We plan ahead well in advance in order to make sure all the details are in place including timeline, checklist of tasks, and a list of any equipment or materials that we’ll need to get your 5 axis printer from point A to point B. This includes accounting for the weight of your load and the capacity of the containers.  It’s very important that our riggers keep in mind the dimensions and weight capacities not only of the machinery being moved, but the containers used for shipping them.

The main differences between these containers are their size, shape, and purpose. Each container type is designed to suit a particular type of cargo and transportation need, and their dimensions and features are optimized accordingly. For example, open-top containers and flat rack containers are designed to transport cargo that cannot be loaded into standard containers. Some of the common types we and or our clients use in import export shipping include:

1. Dry containers: These are standard containers used to transport dry goods such as clothing, electronics, and machinery. They come in standard sizes of 20ft, 40ft, and 45ft.

2. Open-top containers: These are containers with an open top, which allows for the transportation of over-height or over-length cargo, such as heavy machinery, boats, or large pipes.

3. Flat rack containers: These are containers without sides or roofs, which allow for the transportation of cargo that cannot be loaded into standard containers due to their size or shape. They are often used for heavy machinery or large vehicles.

4. Tank containers: These are containers specifically designed to transport liquid or gas cargo, such as chemicals, petroleum, or liquefied gas. They are equipped with a tank that can be pressurized or insulated to maintain the temperature and pressure of the cargo.

You can count on Pedowitz to protect your printer, so before we move it, we’ll go above and beyond to protect your machinery assets from damage. This may include wrapping it in protective foam or blankets, or securing it in a custom-built crate.

Depending on the size and complexity of your printer, you may need to partially or fully disassemble it for transport. We can effect that as well. We have certified millwrights on staff who will carefully document the disassembly process so that your machinery can be reassembled at its new location.
